Today I have been mainly transcribing an interview for my worry book. Transcribing is a bit of a slog, and entails playing a few seconds of a recording on my Dictaphone, typing it up, playing a few seconds, typing it up, over and over. Today, however, this usually boring job has been a joy. And that’s because the interview I’m transcribing is with Rosemary Cunningham.
Rosemary has a starring role in my book. She reached out to me when I was suffering with paralysing anxiety, at the beginning of my big collection of problems. She said “I think I can help you a lot”, told me to read “Excuse me, your life is waiting”, by Lyn Grabhorn and gave me some simple daily practices. This was really the beginning of my turnaround, the point where I started to discover the path away from chronic worry and anxiety, the path towards peace of mind and freedom.
Since that time last Spring, I’ve talked to Rosemary a lot, participated in her Heal Your Money Stuff programme, and attended her Vision Massage workshop. She has a unique ability to bring together her gift for physical healing with an understanding of how we can get trapped in our heads and our thinking. This lady has become a special and very significant person in my life; she’s full of fun and laughter, has a very soothing and calming presence, and is extremely wise, especially about our relationship with money, which reflects so much that goes on in our lives.
The interview I’ve been transcribing is full of treasure: meditation, aromatherapy, money issues…you name it, it’s there. I’m so excited to see how I incorporate all Rosemary’s wisdom into my book, to share what I have been so privileged to learn with as many other people as possible. Just listening to her voice, and typing out what we both said that day in December, has enriched my day and made me even more enthusiastic, if possible, to share what we discussed. It’s also brought me back to the calm space of her therapy room, like an oasis, full of interesting books, oils, essences and all manner of spiritual stuff. I’d actually be very happy to set up camp there, but, since that’s not possible, I sometimes make a cup of camomile and spiced apple tea, which I drank during the interview, just to transport me back for a few minutes…
Here is Rosemary talking in her blog post, today, about yawning – it’s so interesting! I know it works because I have practised yawning with the lady herself talking me through it. Have a go, it’s yet another wonderful tool you didn’t know you had until someone told you!
This is a short post because I have a deadline; at 8pm I have a coaching call with Rosemary, so my day will be completed with more wisdom, healing and laughter. Can’t wait!
