Legal English
If you are a lawyer or law student whose first language is not English, and you need to communicate with English lawyers or study in the UK, you will need excellent English language skills. Your standard of General English should be high, but you will also need to learn legal terminology, specialised vocabulary and collocations. A basic knowledge of the English legal system and how UK lawyers work and communicate is also valuable.
I provide specialist one-to-one sessions designed to help individuals improve their General and Legal English and to understand the structure of the legal profession in the UK. I have a degree in English from Cambridge University and a Master’s in Law, and was a practising solicitor between 2006 and 2019. I am also TEFL qualified and have extensive experience in one-to-one teaching. I tailor sessions to your individual needs, working at the pace that’s right for you.
Do you need to know about Employment Law? How to talk about business structures? Really understand English tenses so you can give presentations about your area of Law? Prepare for Toles exams? Or simply feel more confident speaking, writing and reading English? Contact me for a free trial lesson/consultation and start planning your Legal English journey today.
